To be an inspiration to many is to be a hero actor.

Projection:When we see negativity in others, we usually think and speak about it. We then take no inspiration to think and act positive. The more the attention is drawn towards negativity, our actions will become negative too.

Solution: Whatever the situation we are in, we need to make effort to change our own actions and turn them to positive. We will then be free from looking at the negativity in others. And our actions will become an inspiration to those around us, which will inspire them to become positive too.

Anger Management And Prevention

To get freedom from anger, you need to stop trying to control other people, events and the world in general and accept them exactly as they are at a particular moment. In the meantime, since most of us have learned and developed the deep habit of becoming angry regularly, given below is a stepwise method that, over a period of time, will help you manage and overcome anger completely.

1. Realization

By increasing your self-realization, you will start to notice the anger in its initial stage, e.g. irritation is the first warning that there is a disturbance in your mind. When you do start to experience the irritation emerging, go to the next step.

2. Recognition

Recognize the fact that you and only you are completely responsible for creating your irritation. Make sure not to become irritated at yourself for becoming irritated!

3. Acceptance

Accept and welcome the irritation’s presence, do not resist it, otherwise it will only become stronger and you are likely to suppress it.

Where there is constant checking there is progress.
-----------------------------------------------------
Projection:
Sometimes we find our mood fluctuating seemingly without any reason. At such times we do not understand why it is happening so. We try to change our mood at that time by doing something else. We do find temporary relief but the feeling reemerges after sometime.

Solution: What we need to do is to first check the cause of our fluctuation in mood. Particularly we need to check what weakness is working within us. Once we discover this we would find it easy to change our thoughts and feelings.

Meditation

Meditation is the process in which a meditator emerges the consciousness of being an incorporeal (non-physical) soul, or a point of spiritual energy, located between the two eyebrows with an identity separate from the physical body and connects with the Supreme Soul, who is also incorporeal (non-physical) or a point of spiritual energy but an ocean of the seven qualities - peace, bliss, love, joy, purity, knowledge, and power. By performing this practice in the early morning hours, the time which is called "Brahmamurta" or "Amrit Vela" (Sweet Nectar Time), over a period the meditator absorbs these qualities in himself, which he uses to perform his daily actions successfully.

To use the treasures within is to increase them.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Projection:
Whenever there is a difficult situation, we always expect others to listen and understand. And so we feel helpless as the situation seems beyond our control and we don't feel we can do anything to change it. Then we don't make any attempt and the situation remains as it is.

Solution: Instead of looking at others we need to look within and we'll find a lot of treasures that we can use to change the situation. These treasures, our own inner powers and virtues are such that the as we continue to use them in situations, we find them increasing.

Stress Management

There are some false beliefs about stress that we have acquired:

"A diet change, a little exercise and a good break from work will banish stress"

Truth: You may think, "What about the fun of the party, the healthiness of playing sport or the comfort of the sofa when there's no work to think about?" To an enlightened soul, real happiness cannot be found at a good party. Parties, like running, like watching TV, like chasing a little ball around the court, are ways of avoiding the inner work of self-control and self-mastery. Keep enjoying your leisure activities, don't stop exercising, don't stop going to parties, just don't expect any of them to give you permanent freedom from your stress or give you a real and lasting feeling of happiness. They may provide relief from some of the pain, a temporary high that feels like happiness, but it's an illusory happiness. Perhaps you sense the truth of this already.

It's probably not what you wanted to hear and you may now be thinking, "I just don't agree." And that's fine. But think about your reason for disagreeing. Is it because your partying and running are under threat or is it because you haven't thought it through deeply? Why do you think that after so many remedies for stress have been invented, written about, manufactured, marketed and consumed, there is more stress out there than ever before? Simple - it's called avoidance. We avoid doing the inner work of taking responsibility for our own thoughts and feelings. Everything in our life, including our destiny, begins in our own head.

Thought for 7th July, 2010.....we are all "THE SKY"

We all are gifted with decision making capabilities, but then still when it comes to critical situations at which a decision has to be taken; we try to play a safe game so to avoid criticism. The saddest part is not escaping from the game, but commenting on the action behind the scene.
We are all hung up in the head. This is the main problem & the one & only solution for that is get down from the head into the heart & all problems disappear. All the problems are created by the head. Mysteries remain but problem will disappear.

All the experiences that happen in life are like the small clouds; they come & go.. are not worth paying much attention to. One should always remember that they are the sky, the clear blue infinite sky & then no clouds can distort you. Take no notice of such small clouds & they will never come uninvited.

We should be able to live our life in such a way that nobody is harmed neither by our actions nor by our words. We should live in a creative way, with skill & art. Live in a sensitive way & never become attached.

Root causes of all depressions are expectation & anxiety. The
only solution is to remain detached.

The example of bee is worth mentioning here in this context.

The bee gathers honey from all kinds of flowers but it remains unattached. It will go the rose, to the marigold, to the lotus etc. It will move from flower to flower gathering honey, but it is not attached, it does not cling.

Another beauty is that, although the bee gathers honey from many flowers, it never destroys any flower. It collects what so ever it needs, but in such an artful way with such skill that the flower remains absolutely the same.

Life is never static; it is in a constant moment. So if we cling to anything, it will bring misery. When there is a beautiful sunset, let us all enjoy that, but do not cling on to it. It will soon disappear while watching itself. Then the night will fall, but let us not worry about that, the night has its own beauty. (Shining stars will decorate the sky).

So if someone has been attached to the beauty of the sunset, they will be crying because it is no longer there, & in that crying they will miss the beauty of shining stars appearing the sky.

We all are living in a world surrounded with anger, with jealousy, with possessiveness, with ego. One should refrain from all these gross elements because all these are destroying so much energy, wasting many good opportunities. All these energies should be transformed into good actions by helping others & serving the society there by adding more joy leading into peace.

Conclusion:

Most of us live our lives in the world of time, in memories of the past & anticipation of the future. Only very rarely do we touch the timeless dimension of the present- in moments of sudden beauty or sudden danger, in meeting with a lover or with surprise of the unexpected.

Everybody is trying to remain a separate entity: trying to protect themselves, defend themselves. We are not separate, no man is an island. We are part of the continent, so it's baseless & useless to fight with the continent.

Let us all dissolve into the whole, drop the ego. We have to forget ourselves that we are separate, let us make ourselves a part of the whole & feel & visualize how beautiful & sweet it is.

Hell & heaven is within oneself. We can be the hell & we can be the heaven, it is always us & it is our decision. Heaven is not somewhere else; we have to create it just as we create hell. It is a psychological state. Once we release that we are the creator there is great freedom.

We are ready to travel miles & miles in search of bliss. We make ourselves ready to visit many pilgrimage & temples that are very very far off & that prayer is nothing other than a business or a trade. In that sense we all are traders. We always expect something in return. We go to the temple & pray & give donations, but in return we pray to the god to give this & that. This is nothing other than a trade. We are business minded.

The temples & sacred places are having positive vibrations & is a good place for meditation. These places will help us to uplift our mind-set to a higher level. But for that the temples will only guide us, we only have to make our mind & proceed on with the journey.

A true seeker is not after knowledge, he is after knowing. He wants to learn the very process of learning. He is not at all interested in arriving at the conclusions. He is not interested in goals. But he is very much interested in the journey as such itself.

The very idea of a goal is created by the lazy mind so that one can rest once it is achieved. The people who are interested in goals always will be interested in short cuts. A true seeker has no desire, no ambition. He will be interested in this moment, & will enjoy every now & here.

The ego is the only problem & then it creates thousands of other problems. It creates greed, lust, anger, jealousy so-on & so forth. The people will go on fighting with greed, with anger, with lust. But it's futile. Unless the root is cut, new branches will be coming up in geometric progression.

We all have to serve the mankind without any expectation & the dissolution of the ego is the greatest revolution.
If we service the needy one's now, it is pretty sure that we will get the return of all the good deeds at a later point of time. But let us not work for that with such expectation.

Where there is courage there is success.
Projection: When we are involved in a task, we sometimes experience setbacks. Such setbacks often make us lose our confidence and we no longer have faith that we will succeed in the task. We then lose all courage to go ahead with the task and lose every chance of achieving what we have to.

Solution: We need to remind ourselves that we achieve success to the extent that we have courage. We need to make effort to maintain our courage even during the most difficult circumstances. Only when we do this will we continue to put in effort, which will bring us success at the right time.

Inculcating Powers Through Rajyoga Meditation - The Power To Withdraw

When I am too open to the world around me, it's as though the arrows of negativity that fly around can easily penetrate my being, so that I lose my power. What others say and do quickly affects me, and I become reactive. This causes a build-up of stress, and eventually burnout, which makes me feel my only option, is to retire from situations altogether, which is not always possible.

I don't want to react; I want to act with concern and reason and effectiveness. When I develop the habit of making a momentary withdrawal in situations of danger, I'm better able to achieve this. Turning within, I'm able to remember my link with the divine, the link of love, the link that fills me with peace and wisdom and good wishes. It's like an exercise: going inwards i.e. connecting with the self, then upwards towards the Supreme and then outwards (in the field of .karma.). Doing this repeatedly through the day as a discipline as well as at times of danger, I'll keep moving forward with stability and strength.

In order to maintain this power, I have to put a high value on introversion. If I'm too extrovert, I'll become caught up in external circumstances, and won't have power to withdraw available to me at the moment of need.

Perfection comes to the one who is open to learning.

Projection: When we realize having made a mistake, we usually have negative thoughts about ourselves. This is because we expect the best out of ourselves, i.e., we expect ourselves to be perfect in everything we do. But this expectation prevents us from taking naturally the learning from the situation.
Solution: We need to realize that perfection does not come by thinking about it but by being busy in whatever we are doing. With every action of ours comes learning and this automatically brings perfection.
Self Esteem
The rebuilding of 'real' self-esteem is an inner process of self-realization, self-knowledge and self-awareness. We need to spend sometime seeing our own inner qualities and appreciating them, and most importantly expressing them for the benefit of others. In this way we slowly come to know our own true beauty. Are you ready to rediscover what is already there?
Imagine five people in your life were asked to identify a specific positive quality within you. List the five different qualities, which you think they would see in you. Now spend a few minutes with each of these qualities and visualize yourself expressing them in your life.

The one who is truly fortunate is constantly enthusiastic.

Projection: When we find things going wrong with us, we immediately find ourselves losing all enthusiasm. We then do nothing to change our situation but just begin to curse our fate. With such an attitude we can do nothing to change our fortune.
Solution:
When things go wrong, we have to recognize the fact that it is the present that is in our hands. We don't need to think of what happened in the past and curse our fate. Instead we need to fill ourselves with enthusiasm to make the best use of the present to make our future the best.

Anger Management
Given below is a set of questions, the answers to which will help you manage emotions of anger, irritation, frustration, etc. more effectively:

During which event today did you get angry...even a little?
What were your thoughts at the time?
Which thought contributed most to your stress?
What thoughts helped you to regain your calmness?
How long did it take to regain your calmness?
Why do you think it took so long?
What would you do differently and more appropriately (suitably) if the same scene happened tomorrow?

The ones with pure thoughts experience safety in all situations.

Projection:
When there are negative situations, we usually get negative thoughts very easily. Such negative thoughts take us further into negativity. We get caught in this circle of negativity and we then can't make our thoughts positive.

Solution: We need to take care that we don't blame anyone when we are going through any negative situation. We need to maintain whatever positivity we can in the situation, and we will find our mind changing towards positive too. It is this positivity that acts as a means of safety for us.
